original poetry

I.

    Sometimes things
                                               appear opaque
    like a pretty person's face
                                                    or a blank page
    but if you look closer
                                             you'll see specks
            start to realize
                                        everything is mottled
       with dust
                          freckles
                                           flecks of detritus.

II.

             Sometimes names
summon more — sometimes less.
      packets of essence,
                                            prepackaged.
  In the staticky distortion
                                                  destiny sings softly;
in the peculiar triangle of eyes and lips
                cymatics scream
                                                sand on the plate
    into coherent shapes:
                                             They interlock.

We are a infinitely number of beings in the eyes of others ... beauty is in the eye of the beholder is the expression. Your poem however brought this expression up to the poetic stratosphere ... now excuse me while I go and exfoliate:) Seriously though ...great poem:)

The stratosphere, eh? Your words buoy me there @prydefoltz :-D

The microscopic and the metaphysical - call the Nobel committee, I think we have our Grand Unified Theory ;)

Excellent work mate, I love how many of your poems border that fine line between the conceptual and the relatable. This phrase in particular has so much to say about language as structure, about the nature of names, about our personal relationship to them;

Sometimes names
summon more — sometimes less.
packets of essence,
prepackaged.

Great stuff!

Simple and beautiful!
I like the style it goes with the message of the poem, as lines interlock.
Great art work too

Your works batter my head with the cudgel called imagery.
Trying not to feel but know could hit one with dysentery..
Simplicity is a mantra you ve been following
Sorry but I think these skills need borrowing!

I realise, philosophy and fragments of physics are your tool to express yourself in your poems.

Indeed all creation is made out of fractals, which are again unity of smaller fractals :) In each fractal you can recognise the whole universe, yogis are claiming.

Really like that first stanza.

It stands all by itself, doesn't it? I didn't know there was more until I scrolled down. I almost want to hear music behind the spoken word.

Thanks. I thought it was a pretty complete idea in and of itself, but I decided to extend it out @wmbakester :-)

This is simplest poem i have read from you.. Beautiful..

Very beautiful are words from the soul ,honest words , simple but with a strong message . I really like your post

Very true poem . Thanks friend
