A display of disarray (part 1)

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

I started this story as practice for the mind, but began to enjoy writing it. This is part 1, more is to come. I hope you enjoy it.

A many minded man spent one long night dreaming, and when he woke he all but spoke with hands violently streaming. With all that was known now in question, one can hardly expect suppression. He shot up, scrambled, and searched while he rambled. "It has to be here. I've the key to an answer!" Five frantic minutes more, and he knelt near the mantle. "Into my head, I've known it before." He said triumphantly, climbing from floor. Toward the table he dashed, pen upon paper he lashed. Until finally, "maybe!?... At last!?" No knowing the time that has past, but sun seems fallen fast. "Away to a new day, though works never done. A rested mind rises bright as the sun."

Thanks for reading, feel free to leave opinions positive or negative, I'm a noob in writing and steemit so I appreciate any constructive input.

Check out (part 2) if you liked it so far.
