What is a friend?

What do you call a friend
Someone who will text you when they feel like talking
Maybe just to see how you are doing

How do you know they are a friend
Someone who will opt to make plans with you
So you may share an experience within the short life we all hold

How do you feel when they are a friend
Someone who will make you want to be around them
Not someone who has you around just for laughs

How do you know when they are not a friend
Someone who will only talk to you when you go out of your way to
But not take the time out of their day to contact you

How do spot the qualities of a friend
Someone who will take the pains and stress of life away
Just by being in their company

How do you find a friend
Someone who you can connect to in mutual interests
Stemmed off interaction that both find suitable to share your precious time with

How do you keep a friend
Someone who can fix any problem that may arise in your friendship
No matter how upsetting you both agree to keep the bond strong you have formed

What does it take to be my friend
Someone who is loving, caring, and fun
Not much to please me, just enjoy the time we share
