Winds of Time

in #poetry7 years ago

Winds of time,
Having lost the momentum so sought,
Stutter and stumble;
Flailing, falling, dying.

Chance the meeting,
That wasn’t,
‘Twas written in the stars,
In the lore passed down through the decades.

Once the person,
Committed then to heart,
Never to be forgotten,
But carried always, a longing hidden.

Puzzle piece missing,
A nagging feeling of unease,
Compelling, confounding,
The need to complete that which can never be.

Winds of time,
Turning round,
Leave the past where it lies,
That the dying embers,
Dull and dim,
Be not rekindled unto light,
To flare once again,
As a glowing beacon in the night.

Very well written, there should be a continuation.

Thank you for the affirmation. And yes, I have a habit of leaving things "hanging".

I guess that's cos life ain't always as need as we would like it to be. It doesn't always end with a conclusion or a happy ending or whatever. Instead, it is always in the moment. And that moment is limbo.
