Glaring Double Vision Ghosts

in #poetry7 years ago

Glaring double vision ghosts,
On the lost motorway sign.
Each shadow a toast,
To the revolutionary prime.

Men resolved to go nowhere,
Only wheels within the lines.
Black heads shrugged over,
Cruising on cryptic designs.

Glaring double vision ghosts,
On the lost motorway sign.
Hardly noticed by most,
As they glide off to deep pine.

Hard dark eyes trusting no one,
Thinking everything is pain,
They'd sacrifice their own son,
On any day, for any gain.

Glaring double vision ghosts,
On the lost motorway sign.
Drifting coast to coast,
Life unmarked by bored mind.

It only takes a shifted glance
A split decision to retrain.
If it could only break the trance,
And bring control back to the brain.

Glaring double vision ghosts,
On the lost motorway sign.
They wait to be the host,
Of a ride with love sublime.

Wish I had a gif of the shadows a cars lights make as it drives by a hitchhiker at night.. It mesmerized me during many a long wait.

I write poetry too, but my style is so much different.
It is a great thing to see a different point of the view.

I try to experiment with different styles, as well it depends alot on which mood I'm in, and ofcourse the poems theme. This is short passages and repeating phrases, like the cars passing by. The image this poem relates to has stuck with me over the years.
