POETRY AND ART / The Search for Creativity
A WRITERS SEARCH FOR CREATIVITY-
Every author, worth their salt, knows that in order to engage their audience and present something memorable, they need to reach beyond what is expected. A good writer knows to avoid common over used expressions, to paint unusual images to help tell a story.
In my own writing this is certainly something I strive for. One tool I use to help me create is a word and phrase generator. Seeing random nonsensical phases will often stimulate creativity. In my poem A Glibly Diabolical Frock I wrote extensively with the help of a word generator. Watch Out for Snakes is one of my favorites.
A Glibly Diabolical Frock
Silken statesmanship
Elapsed in sorrow,
Only to be resurrected
And redistributed
As a shrinking pearl,
A foolhardy subordinate
Disapproving lightness
With carpeted nativity,
A glimmer supporting
The scantiest fracas,
Revolving with drowning
A shouldered disservice,
A horoscope of lumber,
Gummy, cringing,
Righteously coked,
But meant to survive
As gumption and gambles,
A sweet-toothed departure
In a butcher’s dark drool,
Unraveling tediously
Into the frothiest spire
That flickers a greeting
Amid the dismantled
And galloping green.
i see now that open-mindedness is the key
thank you!
It helps.
