The Pattern Exists with No Pattern at All

You would expect dreamers
to be out of touch, after all
when left unattended a vagrant
takes unresolved issues
and recasts the characters.

It happens like this,
the narrator no longer has charge
and a black and white photo
is not in the place where it started.

But this makes no sense
when supernatural visions are held
in asylums and descriptive vocabulary
is considered taboo.

Take the conformist,
it’s their way to censor a color
that doesn't seem to match, or some other
direction that contradicts dogs
that reprimand strangers.

It is simply a thought that confuses
and dreamers love chaos,
patterns of random exposures,
a shoe on a dish, or even a face
that has lost all its features.

• The art work illustrating this poem is called Defining A Status Without Using Words. In it I was trying to capture the intricate details of molecular space, the idea of order when order is uncertain.

• The poem was simply an entertaining write, a process of taking an idea and just seeing where it would take me. The poem is meant to confuse, but also to motivate thinking and cause one to ponder imponderable thoughts.
