NOT LIKE THEIRS

There was a time
We visit the barber's shop together
We once slept one the same bed
And against each other we rolled

So rapid things had changed
Our chest doesn't look much alike
And every normal touch
Is now so sensitive

She doesn't want the same bed again
She started doing the puff-puff hair
Her face look more bright and adorable
She now had interest in her body unlike before

Our schedule changed so easily
And we don't do most things together
Any playful touch get her angry
I can't help it, she's changed

Her months were never complete again
I think she got sick every month end
And it is always on repeat mood
She frowns and feel the pain in her stomach

I think she now hates me, I tell mom
She don't wanna tell me everything again
She don't get dirty with me playfully
She turned an angel overnight

She is growing, mom answered
Puberty, the English man call it
So as you my dear
From girl to lady, boy to gentleman

But nothing changes within me
My chest still flat like the wall
I don't feel any monthly pain
Not even my butt expand

Mine is a different one
Very soon, I'd see them; she assured
Wonderful and different from hers
Patience, is what I should hold on to

If that's what growing up is all about
Then I'd rather remain young
Discrimination and disunity
Living with hunting memories

The hand that once clocked
Never reach for each other again
The wrapper we once shared
Not enough for even one person

Until I started seeing hairs in my armpit
I felt the equality again
But my chin also had hairs and my voice,
Became deep, and boosted my ego

I think I love the growing also
Only broad chest nothing forms
Not even yearly pain, I feel
I think I wanna stay different also

I wanna look so much appealing and strong
Muscle out and empty the bottles
Hang out with jesters and play mind games
My growth was not like theirs
