Bread in Poetry

My last post was about anarchy, so here's some bread. When I say bread, I refer to the nourishment, the raison d'etre that makes societal upheaval worth it. Art, love, passion, a meaningful life for all: this is what we fight for.

Accidents

The sentiment
That made the ocean weep
Mountain fell to his knees
The raindrop
In the desert
Low and alone
Arrested in the cracks
About my pavement
In the breadth of
Malt liquor spirits and
Cold-penny stench
A violent daydream
Of the slow dying
Of my youth
And the withering
Duct tape
Holding us together
Death, the consummation
Brief and unforgiving
The taste of
Omniscience
In the cold,
Inebriated midnight
