dying her hair

it started with a broken, confused heart.
it seemed you wanted her to be something else.
you always discussed all the females you admired.

she cut her hair, it started with that.
she turned eighteen, it never stopped after that.
she got her first tattoo, she felt pain she wished upon; it revealed her.
she dyed her hair, she changed her clothes.
she changed the person she once was for someone you would admire.

secretly, she never would get you back or want to.
deep down, when you saw her seven years later; you choked.
she was who you wanted all along; she changed; he knew this.

she was mysterious, she was beautiful and she knew it; confident in herself.
he showed emotion but never spoke of it because his wedding day will be soon.

both of them did not have to speak.
they knew.
they both knew that when she physically changed who she was, she wanted to be someone new; for herself.
they both knew that this new woman grew up for a reason.
he helped her in some sense.
broke her heart in the other.
but at the end of the day she grew so beautifully.
