Shift And Shimmer - Original Work

We are made to believe
that to be counted
we must choose
one or the other
That to nurture the fluidity
of our ever changing nature
somehow compromises
the validity or sincerity of
our more rooted parts
But my most sacred self
is best reflected in the
shift and shimmer
In the in between places
that are
neither
nor
And in this truth I rise
