Crossing a Burning Bridge [Original Poem]

in #poetry7 years ago

A wise breath, first to the dawn,
as the hermit turns the page;
even Genesis
was written in a day.
Fooled by the zig-zag zebras,
camouflaging their masses
to one massive madness.
The laughter fades
as abrasions braid
the veins to grit and sand; indict the lunacy.

Yolkai Estsan looms
before the nettled Leo; tension's burly,
early though,
so flip a penny
into a nickel
for a quarter past a dime.

Mercury's homily was decrypted,
such drivel
the little twins manage to muster
through the spittle.
Allow the lambs to marinate
as Mithras serenades the sheep.

Rest your head, weary one,
even Genesis was written in a day.
