In Search of "My One thing"
The brain and the heart are always in contention.
The brain is all about logic, the heart is all about feelings.
Nevertheless, none can be totally neglected in favour of the other.
My fear is never to displace my happiness in favour of logic or emotional cravings.
My heart longs for many things but my brain warns me of impending regrets.
Only to know that on the long run, the motivation for many of the activities the brain oversees are embedded in the recesses of hearty feelings.
So no matter how the brain instructs, the heart eventually and always win the war.
I love this but I need that.
Love wins over needs, all the time.
Because even when needs are met, the regrets for the love lost can not be removed.
Like a sore, it deepens and drips with the liquid of "Had I know".
I can see my tomorrow, though only in deux-mensional perspective but what blinds me is the path that leads to it.
I have lived for the heart and I have tried to live for the brain.
But that could only last me a step not a mile, not to talk of a lifetime
Discipline is for step takers while passion is for happy marathoners.
What can you do for nothing in return for only the satisfaction of the action.
It is mostly always one thing.

Sometimes we just have to step the first step forward and the mistery would begin to unfold every other step of the way.
You may not know it all at the start but as the clocks ticks and as you aim forward and work forward it becomes much more easier.

very true poem with a raw quality to it. my favorite line i pulled out was " for only the satisfaction of the action" - i like playing on words that are made of each other and using them to complement each other phonetically - especially when it enhances and supports the meaning. very well done :)

Honestly, it takes divine wisdom to strike the perfect balance between what the heart wants and what the brain/mind judges as acceptable.
