They say at the end we see our lives flash by
moments of time, memory played for the minds eye
will we see all of our choices, the paths we took?
or fragments of past arranged for one last look?

All the things we thought, the emotions we feel
in the present they seem so important and real
but in death we see only what is true
all our judgement and opinion we will see through

Our time ends but the universe lives on
many lives will pass after we're gone
we started so pure, a slate so blank
for our existence, our parents to thank
for everything we know and everything we believe
our parents sculpted us from the first time we breathe
