Regret -- A Poem

Regret
By Stephen Jacob Martin
Regret is a blue herring
Often knotted into one's being
It never gives.
If entertained for too long
Its parasitic nature becomes apparent
If not givin its day in the sun
It festers in the recesses.
Perhaps it is best entertained for a night
Before sending it packing.
