Days changed to nights, ere you were born, or I,
And on its business ever rolled the sky;
See you tread gently on this dust-perchance
'Twas once the apple of some beauty's eye.
پیش از من و تو لیل و نهاری بودست
گردنده فلک زبهرِ کاری بودست
زینهار قدم بخاک آهسته نهی
کان مردمکِ چشمِِ نگاری بودست

Omar Khayyám, was a Persian polymath, scholar, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and poet, widely considered to be one of the most influential thinkers of the Middle Ages. He also wrote numerous treatises on mechanics, geography, mineralogy, astronomy and music.
