Poetry: Diege To A Double Faced Friend.

Ponder over the grape – how pungent it tastes.
Even at times it produces juice so sweet
That it tastes like honey on your buds!
The sweet and bitter run abreast
Same way they run in you, dear friend.
As i watch you swap,
from time to time, between these states.
Your two hands, dear friend, endorse one another.
As one provides food for the needy and the drifter,
Defend the feeble and lead the poor,
The other is a viscous edged knife,
As honed as the razor,
Fiendish in utter wickedness,
As pungent as bile in taste.

I do not assume, friend, that you're a kind
That treads only one path, and that path alone.
You trail a path and seem a reasonable one,
You provoke no one and are of the best chivalry.
You trail another and are heady and proud
Cuffing others with no ground to hold.
Most of times you feign a learned being in God's ways
One who seclude to a temples and sinagogues -
And when you turn again you are an insane debauchee
Covertly smattering whatever your hands lay upon

You are regarded as a forbearer of the race,
Revered for your prudence, finesse and ingenuity in bickering
Yet within you lives a common Buffon too -
Someone who scoffs at the wit of others
You are one whose oesophagus allows no passing
Of food which believers are prohibited to touch,
Yet you are an obstinate, deadly crook -
From whom the possessions
Of the Prophet himself is never safe.
