THE PERFECTIONIST TRAP
"Not quite right."
"I trust my foresight"
The words of the perfectionist.
Perfection slowly creeps into procrastination.
Moments turn into hours,
Hours turn into days.
Fear of rejection before judging eyes.
Hands steady like the oak tree.
Totally absorbed in the craft,
Piling up several drafts.
Striving for excellence,
His own harshest critic is himself.
Looking through his narrow lens,
The alteration seemingly never ends.
He pushes himself to be better... no matter how good he turns out... I root for d perfectionist.
lets cheer on for the perfectionist, even though he can never be perfect. art is only subjective.
Well, isnt dat life in general? We strive just to have bigger goals.

Such a nice poem to describe perfectionism and its potential harms too. While it seems great to be a perfectionist, it isn't easy to be one and for me, it is quite unhealthy too.

I can really relate to this. Perfectionism is hard to shake. I have been listening to a book called Finish that you might like, it deals with perfectionism. :)
