The Invisibles

The invisibles live unseen
watching the world through
transparent neon clear eyes.
No one asks them how they are
because no one can see that they are
more than smudges ringing
our peripheral.

The invisibles have stood by you at times,
witnessing you and your mistakes
though none can witness their redemption.
The unseen class that thrives like
roses on the side of the road,
they've grown from between concrete cracks.
Their growing could end a world.

In the land of density, the invisibles
have suffered the silence with raised chins,
brave grins, a little gin, and with some sin.

But unless you saw, you'd never know.
