Empty Space
Last night I dreamt
But this dream was of nothing
I saw that empty space.
They've so much talked about
Maybe this was worse
For it had the worst of gloom
Void of sun and stars
And the ocean hid under the sun
Stretching far into blackness
It was another world
Void of any living form
But then I looked again
Behold the morning star
Bound in celestial chains
Alone in that empty world
That I'll never dream of again.
