Poetic-surge Poetry Contest #1 (LOSING SELF)
He will reveal himself;
When the tides have ebbed
And the white peaks of crested waves
Have turned a pale yellow.
He will expose himself;
When the thunder rumbles
From below the earth
And the shaggy winds cease to stir.
He will uncover himself;
Dark and plain, devoid of self;
Spread out before all that sees him,
A forgotten track of obsolete beauty;
He will manifest himself;
A delicate, smooth bareness
Easy to the touch; easy to the eyes;
But tough to the soul.
He will unwrap himself;
Blotched, unable to remember
His former colours; for he is now like them,
The man has become like them.
He will unfurl himself;
And strip himself of all of himself.
To at least, taste what they have tasted.
He will hate himself; this barren divest of dignity and value.
He will be ashamed of himself.
But at least, he will have a huge store of gold
With which to buy enough lies
To shield the bareness of his defiled spirit.
Wow,,,very wonderful piece,,, this is a depressed and abandoned soul who possesses everything but owns nothing,,,and he will eventually be forced to abandon all,,,
This got me reading over and over again,,,very easy diction portraying a deep meaning,,,this is poetry to its core.. See you around
Oh thanks a big lot, @tony-duke. The referral poem was my muse, of course. It set the tone, the mood, the depth and the diction for me. Thank you sir; for your comment and for this platform..
