Music is a powerful thing,
Can make you cry or make you sing.
Into your soul it can reach,
Effecting heart, thought and speech.
Sometimes a song can you connect
And cause you to reflect,
A certain person, place or time
Throughout it's words of rhyme.

Each genre goes with different a mood,
Aggressive music makes you rude.
Classical music helps you relax.
While disco requires wide legged slacks.
Sometimes it's hard a genre to choose,
As your favourite - maybe blues.
This can change throughout the day,
Depending what events might play,
Affecting your emotional state,
No matter what, a good song will await.

Sometimes you'll find a song gets stuck inside your mind,
You try to get it out again but it's difficult you'll find.
It may not be a song you like, but that doesn't matter,
It stays there all the same, making noisy clatter.

When we workout we move our feet
To something more upbeat,
A lullaby can help us sleep,
A love song in our hearts we keep.
No matter what it is we do,
Music is a part of you.

Each instrument a character has,
A saxophone is smooth for jazz.
A drum is made to go with rock,
Piano takes you back to Bach.
A violin with its sweet strings
Can almost give you wings.
When you listen to guitar,
It can help heal every scar.

Throughout your life, each different stage,
No matter really what your age,
Your tastes may change with each phase,
But your love for music always stays.
So whether you are young or old
To music always hold,
A lifelong friend it will prove to be,
Even if you sing out of key.
