POEM: New Times Roman
In stillness
And blanketed darkness
I rise from my side
In the cool
fall coming
Through amber ashes
Ocean hue light
A reminder
The night lives in borders
And movement becomes
The possession of day dwellers
————
I have given up
All asset anchors
I have quit
My ticker tantrums
I have cut
My fiat feathers
To dwell among
The bull shelters
I dream of times
I took for granted
Gnawing bones
While meat meandered
Now the silence
Rules our voice
Caressing us
And our coins of choice
