The Warning - [a dark poem]

in #poem7 years ago (edited)

I have a short, somewhat gloomy poem on offer for Friday. It speaks of cold, weariness, darkness, and the interminable journey of a lifelong struggle.

Enjoy if you wish, interpret as you want, and ignore at will.

Cold winds blow across a sterile field,
The coming of the storm.

So dark.

As if you didn't know that about me already.

It IS dark, but there is a stark beauty to this, Neg.

There's probably at least a little beauty in every dark thing, as long as it's not too dark to see :) Thanks!

Lovely and dark. Maybe you should include that 800 hotline number for people at risk with posts like this! (Kidding/not kidding. I don’t have to worry about you, right?)

All is well!

It mostly comes out at night.

Mostly.

Well I’m glad you turn it into art!

Nice! Almost fits the Muxxy art contest (minus the violence of the snow, of course).

Very astute! I really wanted to use Muxxy's photo for this, but I didn't think that was an appropriate use of the original photo.

Dag. Oh well :))

Life and death, and the blip in between soon forgotten, only that the next person born starts a little further ahead thanks to the steps of those who've gone before. Well done.

Now there's the start of another poem right there. Thanks!

Awesome and beautiful, Well written, Thanks for sharing @negativer

Don't shoot yourself.

But seriously, that is very good in my humble opinion.

Thank you! No shooting going to happen here. I'm warm now. But I was very cold last week :)

Was cold way down south here also. Warming a little now. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
Lighten up! :)
