The Big News (An Original Poem)
The Big News
He beckoned me in,
Then sat down at the table.
His eyes were wide and dark,
What you'd see in a fable.
I sat across from him,
Eager to hear the big news.
I tried to read his face,
But it gave away no clues.
His pupils slowly dilated,
Until they matched his skin.
He looked vaguely familiar,
Perhaps he was my kin.
He stared into my eyes,
And I started in return.
This would of gone for hours,
But my eyes started to burn.
He was strangely silent,
Not a word did he speak.
His eyes were deathly serious,
But his figure was meek.
My curiosity was killing me,
My heart and mind distraught.
I asked, "What was it you wanted?"
He answered, "I forgot."
Haha! thanks!
