Broken Vase (An Original Poem)

Broken Vase

portrait-1634421_12803ceb9.jpg

She is a vase,
teetering on the edge of a table.
One push, and she will fall
into oblivion.
Into brokenness.

She's gone through too
much.
Once she shone like silver.
Now she's dulled,
a cracked vase.

People try to give her that
final push
into brokenness.
But she fights it.

Until one day, it's too
much.
And she falls.

Now she's broken.

A broken vase,
lying in pieces on the
floor.
And no one notices.

People step over her
careful not to touch the
sharp shards of glass.

They don't think she
notices,
but she does. And it
hurts.

And then someone sees
her.
A hand scoops up the
shards of the broken vase,
deposits them on the
table,
takes out the glue,
and starts fixing her.

And slowly,
the pieces come together.

Until one day,
she stands tall
in the middle of the table.
Only spidery cracks
remains on her glossy
surface.

She is fixed,
and she will never break
again.

I like this a lot! Very nice.

Thanks @jameswalker. I am glad you liked it:)

@mindfreak I wrote some music for this. The dumb link won't play the music on the page so you'll need to open it in another window. Also, I wrote music for your poem "Simplicity" weeks ago but haven't had someone to record the spoken poem part. I'll get it out there though :) https://steemit.com/originalmusic/@mcordy/broken-vase-an-original-poem

@mcordy Thank you so much. It sounds great. I hope to listen more from you thereafter. Great job!

Thanks! Keep the poems coming too!
