I Keep Chasing (Poem)
You are more addictive than fucking drugs
Just one more hit and it’s never enough
You take away all my self-control
And I have never been so glad to let it go
It is like you dose up the very air
Like every breath is somehow aware
Of just how badly I want you there
And the more I shouldn’t, the more I care
You know exactly what I want the most
But you leave me chasing your overdose
I should have known you’re the dangerous type
Who keeps me walking on the knife
Of wanting something I can never have
And letting it get me so very bad
Can’t we just let it get worse every day
Until something finally gives way
