The Fate of Balloons - A Poem
The bright balloons staggered in the air
Dancing to the music of the wind
To the delight of the many children
Who, awed, watched from beneath.
Tossing like headless snakes
Would later crash to the ground
When the air they had swallowed
Becomes tired of dancing and go home.
Mere mortals. They stumble and fall
On the same stairs
They had climbed into power.
