Lost

Peaceful waters serene and calm,
I kneel at your shoreline at the break of dawn.
With my soul I search the horizon’s line,
As my heart leads me back to an earlier time.
A life filled with laughter, joy and cheer,
None of which now is surrounding me here.
I once felt a love so warm and so true,
Far, far away across the ocean deep blue.
An angel of light with soft golden hair,
A treasure so rich, that none could compare.
I told her I loved her one weak, desolate night,
And from that moment til now, she’s disappeared from my sight.
I’ve wandered so weary, so lost and alone,
Desperately yearning to find a true home.
Regardless the distance and vastness I roam,
My heart can’t forget the angel it’s known.
So from now and forever, until the end of my life,
I’ll continue to search for my place in time.
