It has been a difficult and painful weekend. On Friday night a friend of my mother died and today was her funeral! How difficult it is to see the people we love die. I found this poem and I liked it. Today I dedicate it to my dear friend Josefina, I wish her to rest in peace!
When I die I want you to remember me with joy, without crying
That you speak to me normally, without whispers, or broken phrases,
Without long pauses, clearly as if I were in front of you without being silent, and that your eyes see the horizon, without wiping away tears, that are stuck in the throat.
When I die, don't give me flowers, give me kisses and hugs and every night look at my picture, imagine that I see you, Imagine that I hear you, that I will be by your side. In the nights I will watch your dream, I will be your guardian angel. Take care of yourself, although the years go by I will always be there.
When I die I want you to remember me as the first time, when our eyes focused on one look, so I want you to remember me, to stay alive in you. Without you thinking that I died and your forgetfulness takes me, I want you to remember me with joy, that I will continue living like this.
