A gesture kind

A thing of such slight consequence
which stirs the soul yet torn,
unhefts some veil to freely lift
of its own 'lorn accord.

A knob soft-turned and opened half
the portal to strained eyes,
yet shut before the dazzling veins
of rapture flood red skies.

Recluding vic'try, virtued drone
sink back in habit's mire.
Could commoner not our kind become
whose hearts impel love higher?

Passion allows us to see the world with eyes of gift and commitment at the same time. Everything colors when we put the soul in what we do. Passion and love come together to achieve miracles that cause amazement at the wonder of everything around us. Everything is worthy of attention in this world, from a tiny stone to a meteorite. However, our eyes have become accustomed to what surrounds us and no longer perceive the greatness of the environment that lives daily with us: trees, lights, stones, skies, water, buildings, people. Everything is worthy of being seen, sung or admired; but most of the time, it goes unnoticed by distraction, habit or routine.
The soul vibrates in beings and things, just as they vibrate for us, even if we do not perceive it.
The images capture this idea of infinity in everything, of vibration with the whole.

Thank you for these binoculars of infant-eyes @zeleiracordero. Namaste 🙏

More thanks to you for that generous heart that gives itself to everything, my treasure!

A small detail or a thing of little importance to a person can be a great detail or a great act that marks the whole life of the other person. For example, when my daughter was a girl, I gave her many nail polishes on her birthday. Today she remembers that day as one of his best days. For me it was a small detail, for her it was a great detail. Greetings friend @d-pend

It is the feeling of something like this that inspired me to write this poem. As always, you are perceptive @corderosiete, and thanks for sharing the anecdote about your daughter :-) Have a great day!

A kind gesture can certainly make a difference, especially if we are broken hearted and wrapped in pain, depression, or mourning.

What happens when it comes from someone “not our kind”? What does it even mean? Race? Social status? Sub-culture? We are good at labeling and compartmentalizing

What happens if we fall in love with the “wrong” person, the wrong activity, or the wrong cheering chemical?

Should the downtrodden aspire higher than their position? Should the lover pursue a “higher” mating partner? Should downers want to become pep pills?

The poem speaks to me of either a passing flirt with a human love interest or a similar flirt with a stimulating (titillating?) environment that should not last long. The closer I get to a common meaning is falling in love with a prostitute who has done us a charity (a kind gesture) :)

But, this may just be my perverted mind squeezing too much out of

A knob soft-turned and opened half
the portal to strained eyes,
yet shut before the dazzling veins
of rapture flood red skies

And
“Recluding vic'try, virtued drone / sink back in habit's mire.” I am guessing recluding is an amalgam of reclusive and secluding.

So, after some excitement, we go back to the swampy routine of daily life and the torturous questioning of the value of gestures kind and the impossibility (if we care about hearsays) of mingling with those who are not “our kind.”

Even today, your poem is a precious word from the depths of the heart.

Thank you very much for reading and commenting. :-)

@d-pend,

A thing of such slight consequence
which stirs the soul yet torn,
unhefts some veil to freely lift
of its own 'lorn accord.

I love that third line. The whole poem is some lovely Ballad Meter. It's a simple, but tremendously powerful, stylistic genre.

Your theme is ... poetically worthy.

There are those little moments in life when the "gift" is not found in the gift that is given ... but rather, in the gesture of giving.

Recluding vic'try, virtued drone
sink back in habit's mire...

Nice.

Quill

the power of the small kind act :) so good for the receiver and the giver

Dear @d-pend sir!
We can see the beauty of life in the smallest part of life. For the time, we should have a compassionate heart. There is so much effect of the glare of the world on our eyes, we try to look beyond reality. A good poet always supports poetry to highlight his inherent emotions. Your poetry always come from the depth of heart. Beautiful abstract photography.

Very nicely done you have a gift
Poetry is fun and gives a lift.

Thank you my friend.

Thank you for being here for me, so I can be here for you.
Enjoy your day and stay creative!
Botty loves you. <3
