The Night Guide

When the darkness comes, he will find you
Waiting at the edge of all you see
Where water flows through deepest depths
To the bedrock of reality
~
Where dreams catch and tumble
In the brambles of the night
And the fog drifts unanchored
Through the phantom moonlight
~
Where distant worlds scatter the sky
Of a ghostly land in tones of grey
Beneath the trees, he will wait for you
And guide you on your way

Under the the blanket of the darkest night,
thunder will always have the power to light the sky.

If that guide were to ever fail you so,
use the light I provide to see what path to go.

What a beautiful words. My fav part:

Where distant worlds scatter the sky
Of a ghostly land in tones of grey
Beneath the trees, he will wait for you
And guide you on your way

Thanks for your sharing this beautiful poetry

Thank you, I really love this bit myself :)

i enjoy how the words get deep into the roots of the mind from the very first line of this poem. this is good work. i am also a writer and i have a few poems on my blog too. I enjoy dark poetry and the sort of ambiance it creates in the mind. how immediately words transcends into scenery and images appear. really nice

The opening line is one that echoes around my mind quite a bit, this isn't the first poem it has inspired but most certainly the first that leads with it like this. Thank you so much, I am sure you know this is the poetic dream, to paint a thousand pictures with words alone! :)
