You Gave Me a Reason (Poem)

You gave me a reason to smile again,
Even when love wasn’t coming my way.

You gave color to my gray sky,
Even when the rain was still on my side.

You took the pieces of a broken heart,
And gave them the shape they used to have.

You changed my writings into a melody,
Even when the heart had its own beat.
