A Brothers Kicker Instead Of Keeper

From holding each other's hands
To dragging each other on the ground

Thinking we could stand together was a delusion
Our tender love grayed out as we wronged each other
And angry hearts had turned bitter

Who was the cause?

Whoever assured us that we could stand alone
Only wrapped us in sack clothes
Whoever convinced us that true friendship could once replace family
Only made us believe that we could fetch water from mirages

Ego funded disrespect

With selfishness creeping its way into our lives
Making us sour and bitter to our own self
No longer can we look each other in the eye without seeing negativity

Deep within our hearts, we lament over the road we've taken
But on the outside hypocrisy borrowed us a smile
Whenever our brother failed
