Once you have followed these steps, the Plex server will start the process to scan your library and you’ll see movies and the shows and some other media categories begin to enter the database. One thing you need to keep in mind is that the scan can take some time to complete and if the scan is completed, even then it would take some time to download metadata on the library. Once you have done with scanning, Plex can immediately be used to start streaming the contents for your devices like computers, mobile phones and tablets and whatever else you can run that on.
