Venezuela and cryptocurrencies: an Axie exchange for training on NFTs
On November 19, 2021, Venezuela's gubernatorial candidate, José Alejandro Terán, announced in a post on Instagram, the creation of an exchange, the Axie Infinity La Guaira, for citizens who wish to join the Technical Training Center for the mining and administration of digital assets.

The Center will provide specialized training on NFTs, cryptocurrency mining, and their trading. The training is supported by the National Superintendence of Crypto-assets (SUNACRIP), Axie Infinity Academy, the political group Independientes con Terán and the youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPsuv).

Terán's ambition is to turn the Center into "a talent pool" on cryptocurrencies. He plans to create 1,000 jobs in one year through these initiatives. Chainalysis ranks Venezuela seventh in its Global Crypto Adoption Index.

According to data from TradingEconomics, Venezuela's inflation rate rose from 1,946% in September 2021 to 1,575% in October 2021.

The economic situation makes the country a fertile ground for the growth of some cryptocurrencies, and games like Axie Infinity whose sales have crossed the $1 billion mark.
