What is The Steem House?

Founder and Steemit champion @thatsweeneyguy describes the Steemhouse project as "an incubator for creativity and entrepreneurship".
He expands upon this idea by saying, "The Steem House is a project...to open a real-world business that centers around STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and STEEM. This business is what's known as a makerspace, a public workshop of sorts, where people can come and make anything they can dream up!"

In some larger US cities makerspaces are now commonplace, but in Frankfort, KY, The Steem House would be the first of its kind. The plan is to offer a safe workspace, all the tools needed, and a wide selection of classes, training, and workshops for all ages. Crafting clubs, science fairs, art events, and youth programs are also being planned, and the space is being customized to provide options to create anything members want to make.

Creativity and imagination are the primary focus at The Steem House. It is a place where people can learn new crafts, how to do DIY projects, learn an artform, or just come to build something. New skills and knowledge are available to all members, and the hope for that knowledge is to help empower a new wave of entrepreneurs in the larger Frankfort community.

Why Do I (You) Care?

Even if you are not in the Frankfort, KY area, a place for learning and creative opportunity is a great thing! The Steem House promises untold opportunity for hands-on creative projects for all ages, and could easily serve as a hub of entrepreneurial energy and empowerment that is woefully rare off-line. If you love the idea of education, learning, new opportunities, and sharing knowledge in general, then projects like The Steem House are definitely for you.

The Steem House is currently raising funds to establish their location, outfit the building with necessities such as furniture, work benches, tools, books, etc., and to kickstart the various programs on offer. Interested parties may invest in The Steem House in a variety of ways, including through Steem channels and their Token Sale efforts.
