Banaba is a flowering tree known in many parts of the Philippines. The flowers are purple and sprout wide. It has fruit that is grape but chocolate. It usually grows on the island of Luzon, including Mindanao and Palawan. Because of its ability to cure certain illnesses, it is usually bought from banaba prepared as a drink of tea and tablets.

Different parts of the banaba tree can contain many types of chemicals and nutrients that may be of benefit to health.According to studies, high levels of tannin in fruits, leaves and bark of banaba.This plant also has phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and saponins. Additionally, there is also corosolic acid, ellagitannin Lagerstroemin, and gallotannins in the banana plant.

Illnesses possible cure by banaba plants...

Diabetes The main disease believed to treat the plant is diabetes. Effective in keeping blood sugar levels balanced by drinking the flowers, leaves and fruits of the banaba.
Difficulty in urination The nourishment of the banaba leaves and leaves have diuretic effects on people suffering from urine.
Diarrhea The sauerkraut of the banana tree is believed to be cure for diarrhea.
Obesity or overweight The regular eating habits of the banaba plant are well maintained in maintaining balance and proper weight.

Some parts of the plant can be used as a medicine such as:
Flowers The ripe fruit of banaba is usually moistened before the rats to get its medicine.
