Landscaping with plants
These plants have been used to break up the monotony of a unit block wall. Thye soften the wall by drawing your eye from it with their different shapes, colors and texture. Here we see Japanese Box ( Buxus japonica ) and Sacred Bamboo ( Nandina domestica ) used for the landscaping.
The maintenance is a factor one must consider when using Japanese Box as a trimmed hedge, but the effect is worth it in this case i think. The plants must be carefully trimmed to shape once every month or so in the growing season.
The planting also features other hedge plants like Orange Jessamine ( Murraya ) and Cammellia sassanqua. You can see these in the foreground and background.
Japanese Box is an evergreen plant growing to around 2 to 3 metres in height. It will grow in a much looser habit if not trimmed like a hedge.
Lots of plants from Japanys culture in Australia. Looks beautiful , cheers.
We had one of these as our president, George Bush.
Nothing beats looking at what nature produces no matter how hard man tries.
True , nature is great !
I have always wanted to have gardens like this, but it is somewhat complicated with the climate where I live. Watering is also difficult here. But it is beautiful to see those gardens. Greetings @ ctrl-alt-nwo.

@ctrl-alt-nwo,
It seems like they are maintaining the plant from day 1st! Otherwise, it's hard to bring such kind of design through a plant. Anyway that's a great photo shot! And thank you very much for sharing with us!
Cheers~
Yes, it is best to trim the plant from a young age. You're welcome.
