It's week 8 and I'm cold/Es la semana 8 y tango frío

Nothing beats the fall season in Wisconsin. For starters, it's deer hunting season. I haven't done that, but I will. Then you get to stop being covered in sweaty mosquito bites. I haven't had a problem with that, but it's nice. The leaves change. I haven't seen them other than on my way to work, but as you can see from the photos, nothing changed much before the snow. The snow is gone now and was only on the ground for about 12 hours but it was nice because I am inside and all that weather is outside. And I don't have to deal with fucking wolves. I don't think I can ever be clear enough when I say that I hate wolves.

Nada supera la temporada de otoño en Wisconsin. Para empezar, es la temporada de caza de venados. No lo he hecho, pero lo haré. Luego puedes dejar de estar cubierto de picaduras de mosquito sudorosas. No he tenido ningún problema con eso, pero es bueno. Las hojas cambian. No los he visto más que de camino al trabajo, pero como se puede ver en las fotos, nada cambió mucho antes de la nieve. La nieve ya no está y solo estuvo en el suelo durante aproximadamente 12 horas, pero fue agradable porque estoy adentro y todo el clima está afuera. Y no tengo que lidiar con jodidos lobos. No creo que pueda ser lo suficientemente claro cuando digo que odio a los lobos.

I'm not sleeping on a cot or the floor anymore. I was sleeping 3 to 5 hours a night, but it was more like 1 or 2 hours of sleep because the quality of sleep was pretty bad. On the rare occasions I slept 10 hours, it was like I was woken from a nap almost immediately. I had arranged to pay for my bed through payroll deduction but in the end my employers decided to gift it to me. I'm not accustomed to being given things and it was a little bit awkward when they told me, but I was able to muster up some humanity and act like an adult about it.

Ya no estoy durmiendo en una cuna o en el suelo. Estaba durmiendo de 3 a 5 horas por noche, pero era más como 1 o 2 horas de sueño porque la calidad del sueño era bastante mala. En las raras ocasiones en que dormí 10 horas, fue como si me hubieran despertado de una siesta casi de inmediato. Había acordado pagar mi cama a través de la deducción de nómina, pero al final mis empleadores decidieron regalármela. No estoy acostumbrado a que me den cosas y fue un poco incómodo cuando me lo dijeron, pero pude reunir algo de humanidad y actuar como un adulto al respecto.

My girls come to visit me and they mostly ignore me, but they're children who are not growing up in the 90s and they actually have things to do that don't require being told to stay outside until the street lights come on, so I don't complain about it too much. They're not fighting or angry with me as far as I can tell, but they're girls and I don't understand them so I wouldn't know. They like cats and internet and I have both.

Mis chicas vienen a visitarme y en su mayoría me ignoran, pero son niños que no están creciendo en los años 90 y en realidad tienen cosas que hacer que no requieren que se les diga que se queden afuera hasta que se enciendan las luces de la calle, así que No me quejo demasiado. Por lo que puedo decir, no están peleando ni enojados conmigo, pero son chicas y no las entiendo, así que no lo sabría. Les gustan los gatos e internet y yo tengo ambos.

Taiger keeps me company whether I like it or not and she never stops talking so I'm not going nuts in here with no socialization on my days off. The fact that she was able to be litterbox-trained in a single day has made her a good housemate. She destroys things but she's not a thief yet, and she hasn't really broken anything of value so I won't complain.

Taiger me hace compañía, me guste o no, y ella nunca deja de hablar, así que no me vuelvo loco aquí sin socialización en mis días libres. El hecho de que pudiera ser entrenada en una caja de arena en un solo día la ha convertido en una buena compañera de casa. Ella destruye cosas, pero todavía no es una ladrona, y realmente no ha roto nada de valor, así que no me quejaré.

I finally managed to sell my other vehicle, but I managed to get double scrap value and the check cleared immediately. If my new car doesn't break down and nobody hits me this winter, I should be in good shape. I live near several dealerships so if something does happen, the worst that will happen is I will end up losing a half day of work, and that can always be made up. It also helps that management seems to like me, if giving me what other employees have to pay for is an indication of anything.

Finalmente logré vender mi otro vehículo, pero logré obtener el doble de valor de desecho y el cheque se borró de inmediato. Si mi auto nuevo no se descompone y nadie me golpea este invierno, debería estar en buena forma. Vivo cerca de varios concesionarios, así que si algo sucede, lo peor que sucederá es que terminaré perdiendo medio día de trabajo, y eso siempre se puede recuperar. También ayuda que parezca que me gusta la gerencia, si darme lo que otros empleados tienen que pagar es una indicación de algo.

I have no idea where I'm going with my life. There's a place I want to be and I am hopeful that it will turn out as I intend it to, but I am not there yet. Things are going very well. Still, I am impatient for things to improve. In the end, I have a roof over my head, enough food, a job and steady income and no problems with anybody. Maybe that's all that matters right now.

No tengo idea de a dónde voy con mi vida. Hay un lugar en el que quiero estar y espero que resulte como lo pretendo, pero todavía no estoy allí. Las cosas van muy bien. Aún así, estoy impaciente por que las cosas mejoren. Al final, tengo un techo sobre mi cabeza, suficiente comida, un trabajo e ingresos constantes y no tengo problemas con nadie. Tal vez eso es todo lo que importa en este momento.
