There seems to be a trend throughout the Biblical narrative of these types of punishments while people do not turn to God. We keep witnessing that history repeat itself. It is very unfortunate because there is hope and a better way if people were to choose to turn to God. Everyone has it spelled out and the signs to point towards what is coming next.
