To flag or not to flag those who plagiarize? That is the question.
It's hard, when you're an author, to see someone stealing your content... And it happens every day on the Web and on Steem.
On Steem, I find that there are many non-bloggers who arrive hoping to become quickly rich. But writing, and blogging in general, it's quite an art. There is nothing easy to write quality posts.
And not everyone is cut out for that. Not everyone is able to write (but everyone can learn: it will just take a little time).
But is that a valid reason to steal an author's content...?
Do you know how much time the author has spent researching a topic/writing the topic/reading/reviewing/posting the article?
What can you do about it?
You don't have to flag them. @steemcleaners will take care of it. But you can just tell them that plagiarist... it's WRONG.
It's wrong for the author who gets his content stolen, it's not him who gets the credit for his work. It is wrong to Steemit who loses in referencing - called SEO - (because it presents duplicate articles).
It really hurt Steem in fact... Imagine an investor who wants to help financially the platform and sees only bozo (Bozo is a stupid clown).
That's wrong for the real Steem writers who see themselves robbed a part of the rewards that are redistributed every day.
It's wrong for the thief who loses his credit when he's overdrawn.
A few words for those who prefer to plagiarize...
For thieves, you may earn a few cents in the short term. But Steem, it's a story for life. Not for a night. If you need some help learning how to write, you may want to start by reading the articles that are voted for, which are good. Start by looking deep inside yourself for what makes you vibrate and what you want to share. And it doesn't matter if it's misspelled. The important thing is, it comes from the bottom of your heart.
It is our duty to check that the item is an original item before we upvote for it.

Yea, and then you have to write posts like this one instead of the ones that make us laugh so hard that we blow snot out our noses. Plaigerism generally just takes away the good from everything.

That's a great and important topic @roxane! I had my introduceyourself post copy-paste in 80 %. I realised only because there was a guy who constantly asked me for an upvote. So i decided to check his articles. Such a surprise! After the intervention of steemcleaners he changed his initial post - now it's copy-pasted "only" in 50 %. Soooo frustrating!

The fake won't make it on Steem! Thanks to people and groups like you who make sure the Platform doesn't turn into the garbage on facebook. The Steemians are serious and we are taking over so we dont need these fakes on here. They probably facebook agents. haahahah!! The Blockchain exposes the phony and corrupt. Original content is so hard to come up with and it is disheartening when you see others not producing their own original content. I don't mind some siting of other's work as long as it is used to, again, produce original ideas and thoughts. Keep up the good work, @roxane!!!
