Kuakata sea beach

Kuakata is a beautiful place in Bangladesh. It is the second longest sea beach in Bangladesh. Besides it is a tourist place.

kuakata is named after the word "kua". " kua" is a Bengali word for " well". it was dug on the seashore by the early Rakhine settlers. They dug it for drink water.

This Rakhain settler's were expelled from Myanmar by the Mughals to here in 18th century. Rakhain tribes had a tradition of digging wells in the neighbourhoods for water.

Kuakata is located in Barisal, Kalapara upazila, Patuakhali district. It is about 200 miles south of the capital.

Kuakata is best for sunrise and sunset. Tourist from all over the country visit here to view the sunrise and sunset to the sea beach. Kuakata is a holy place for Hindu and Buddhist religious people. On the festival of " rush purnima " and " magi purnuma " they gathered here and participate their tradition.
