El Cromlech de Avebury
El Cromlech de Avebury (Inglaterra) es un conjunto de más de 500 piedras verticales que forman círculos y avenidas, pero el más grandioso conjunto de piedra megaliticas es el Cromlech de Stonehenge, construido hacia el año 1600 A.C forma un circulo de 88 M de diámetro, constituido por 30 Menhires de 4 m de altura y 2,5 de ancho, sobre los que se apoyan piedras hasta el sitio, ya que la cantera más próxima dista unos 180 Kms de Stonehenge, se le han dado varias interpretaciones al conjunto, siendo, la más aceptada la de que fue un santuario relacionado con el culto al sol.
