At assistant US attorney Gerald Smagala's instigation, ICE identified DOD staff in the PENTAGON of subscribing to child porn websites in Operation Flicker.
They identified 5200 perpetrators.
Only 3500 people were cross checked. 1700 were NOT cross checked.
264 worked for the Department of Defense...
22 had TOP SECRET security clearance
8 had NATO Secret security clearance
42 had Secret Security clearance
4 had Interim Secret Security clearance
Only TWO known arrests.**

Reasons for shutting the investigations down:
"On November 16, 2007, the Reporting Agent obtained personnel file and contacted Special Agent , but received no response. Since then, the Reporting Agent has attempted numerous times to contact Special Agent through email and phone calls but he has continued to be non-responsive. "
"In addition, Resident Agent in Charge, contacted Special Agent ICE Pittsburgh, and advised him of the situation. advised he would speak with however to date, has failed to respond. Based upon the complete non-responsiveness of ICE, who has been named the lead agency regarding all Operation Flicker spin off cases, it is recommended that matter be closed."
Read this a few days back. This is still hard for me to grasp, and the children involved. We know this stuff happens, but the scale on which it happens is sickening. Nice post. Keep up the fight.

My hope is some of us can cyber-locate the men accused - the ones whose names are not blacked out - so we can identify their social media pages and current activities... especially because they have been protected...
