Pixel Art Weekly ~ Theme: Cave/Mine ~ Mining Steem in the Cave

Last week, I was not able to create an entry for the theme "waterfall" but I had some free time today to make one. Below is my entry to #pixelartweekly. The contest is hosted by @jonny-clearwater. The theme for this week's challenge is "Cave/Mine". When I saw the theme for this week, I immediately thought of cryptocurrency mining. Nowadays, I think that many people think the same way too when they hear about "mining". Maybe in the future, the dictionary will contain a different or additional meaning for "mining." For my entry, I combined the old perception of mining (in the cave using the traditional tool "pickaxe") and cryptocurrency (Steem). I hope you enjoy it! 😄

I used photoshop in creating my entry. Below is an animation/gif of the process of making my entry. First, I made a simple character then put some colors/shading to it. After finishing the character, I added the background which is the cave. I tried to make it look like the character is digging through the ground. Lastly, I added some ores/minerals which includes a very precious diamond with a Steem logo. 😁
