From the end of 1890 there were daily trains until closure in 1972.

The Moerputtenspoor bridge was built from the autumn of 1881 to 1887. Only at the end of 1890 there were daily trains between 's-Hertogenbosch and Geertruidenberg (- Lage Zwaluwe) over this bridge. During construction, a possible future track doubling had been taken into account. The 35 brick pillars are wide enough for a second iron bridge section. The line, however, remained single-track until the closure in 1972.

Poisoning the fragile nature.

After initial plans for demolition, the bridge became a national monument in 1995 and in 1997 State Forest Management purchased the bridge. The bridge was seriously decayed after the line was closed and there was toxic lead peeling off the bridge that was falling into the underlying water and fragile nature. Not a healthy situation of course.

Now it's part of the walking routes set out by State Forest Management.

In order to stop this pollution and to preserve the bridge, the restoration was started in April 2004 by State Forest Management. A year earlier, an extensive trial restoration examined how to best approach this. Three of the 35 pillars, three bridge sections and the land chief on the Bossche side were restored during the trial restoration. After that, a total of 36 high-quality bridge sections were first restored. Here, more than 13 tons of old layers of paint and tar have been blasted. Then 9,000 liters of paint was sprayed in the original ocher yellow color. The bridge became accessible to walkers after completion of this work as part of the walking routes set out by State Forest Management in the Moerputten. After a break of a few years, the restoration was continued in 2009 with the restoration of the masonry of the bridge pillars, which was severely damaged by the test of time. In the joints sometimes complete shrubs had grown, but also vegetation of special wall plants where it could have been preserved. In May 2011, the bridge was definitively reopened for walkers
