Hobo Nickel
Hobo Nickels are a beautiful art form made from minted nickel coins. Miniature bas relief sculptures were hand carved into the coins. US nickels were a popular medium for this art; their size, thickness, and relative metal softness made for the perfect medium. They remind me of crypto currencies. The idea of taking the concept of money and improving upon it.
I recently listened to the On The Record #5 podcast interviewing Presstab. Presstab is one of the developers for the PIVX coin. He mentions that he worked on the crypto currency HoboNickels. HoboNickels were created with a cloned and customized implementation of the NovaCoin source. NovaCoin is the first fork of PeerCoin. Unfortunately, HoboNickels is pretty much a dead coin. That's too bad, I like the concept of it and the logo.
