Privacy Coins / Proof of Stake / Full Platforms

in #pivx6 years ago
  1. I'm a fan of privacy, privacy payments, privacy options, and privacy platforms.
  2. I prefer PoS/Masternodes over PoW, especially if I can run the nodes remotely and keep Private Keys off the server.
  3. Lastly, I really like platforms that are offering more than simple payment verification, and have a platform ecosystem.

Below are a list of some of my favorite privacy tech, in order of Marketcap.

  1. Komodo - 9 out of 10 - ZkSnarks - Cross chain Atomic Swaps, Blockchain Notarizations allowing Bitcoin to secure smaller networks, etc. make for a great product. If anyone with min stake amounts could run Nodes, instead of the voting method, and there was an integrated Hardware Wallet (with Claim Function), then this would be a 10 out of 10.
  2. PIVX - 9 out of 10 - Zero Coin Protocol - Ledger functionality with Masternodes and 100% Staking, including Masternode control via Ledger Nano S. Some would argue that PIVX isn't a full platform, making this a 9 out of 10.
  3. ZCoin - 8 out of 10 - Zero Coin Protocol and Masternodes. Would be a 10 out of 10, except it's 50% PoW, not truly full Platform functionality and lacking a Hardware Wallet.
  4. ZenCash - 9 out of 10 - This is the full meal deal in the works. ZkSnarks, Masternodes, and a Full Anonymity Platform on the way. It would be a 10 out of 10, except for 90% proof of work rewards (soon switching to 70%). Hardware Wallet Integration into the Arizen Wallet (on the way) would help.
  5. SmartCash - 8 out of 10 - Masternodes, 10,000+ nodes worldwide, soon with instant payments, make this an interesting Zerocoin Protocol Platform. Lacks Hardware Wallet integration.
  6. Particl - 9 out of 10 - Remote Staking and the Marketplace put it in the list.
  7. Cloakcoin - 8 out of 10 - Staking and Unique Anonymity, makes this excellent. Lacks Hardware Wallet Integration and not really a full platform in the works.
  8. Phore - 8 out of 10 - Zero Coin implementation, 100% Staking/Masternodes, and a full suite of features, including Smart Contracts on the way.
  9. Shieldcoin - anonymity and great things being implemented
  10. Graft - 1st Masternode (to be) Implementation of Ring Signatures, integrating with a large Merchant services company with Point of Sales machines all over.

Currently, for about $2200, which is the appx cost of decent mining equipment, you could buy enough ZEN (42) and SMART (10,000) for two Masternodes. Your $2200 immediately gets you Coin, and you don't have to worry about hardware becoming obsolete.

I left some major Anon coins out because they only fulfill 1 of 3 above. I certainly appreciate the tech, as without ZCash, neither ZenCash or Komodo would be using such great tech for their platforms. Similar goes for Bytecoin/Monero with Particl/Graft. Dash is also appreciated, and has been inspiration for a great many Masternode coins.

I know there are a few I'm missing. Please drop me a note if you think I left out a critical coin.

This coins are good for passive earnings.. however I have a few questions.

IS running a smartcash node profitable and how is the setup process like.

How much can someone earn with a 42 Zen masternode.

Is there any coins with online staking? I think staking is better than masternodes because of the setup processes.

I want to create a masternode, but I'm try to look for coins with great potentials and not requiring huge sum like dash to start a node.

Thanks for the insightful post.
