The Contests of Petals-Lantana Camara and the Bee
This is my entry on #pinkflowerday. The contest of petals is hosted by @petals. I took this photo from the neighborhood in Abudhabi using my Smartphone.
Lantana Camera. A deceptive plant with brightly coloured flowers that produces toxic berries.
The Lantana has small tubular-shaped flowers, each with four petals, which are arranged in clusters at the end of the stems. The flowers come in a variety of colours including red, yellow, white, pink and orange.
Flowers provide bees with food for their families. The bees take the nectar back to the hive and they store it to feed all the family. The flowers gain because bees carry pollen from one flower to another and pollinate it. Seeds grow in the pollinated flower and new plants will grow from these seeds.
